COVRA NV

The Central Organisation for Radioactive Waste (COVRA) is the sole company in the Netherlands responsible for collecting, processing, storing, and the final disposal of all radioactive waste generated in the country. This includes waste from nuclear power plants, hospitals, research institutions, and industrial applications. After this temporary interim storage period, the radioactive waste will be permanently disposed of in a disposal facility (deep, shallow, or surface), which ensures the protection of people and the environment until the waste has decayed sufficiently and no longer poses a hazard.
